I'm passionate about greeting cards. When was the last time you opened your mailbox and what was inside made you smile? Humm............

Clean n Simple

CAS....AKA....Clean and Simple.  A challenge over at TGF, LOL!  Okay this was a genuine challenge for me because I looooove to bling it up.  This challenge encourages white space and few elements...aka bling.  So, I dollied her up with some traditional pearls and called it done.  Okay, there is dry embossing, but it is white paper.  so.......whatcha think?

Hey ChiCkiE!

Hey Chickie!!!!!  Oh I love yellow and gray.  My bedroom comforter when I was a teenager was this combo and I LOOOVED it.  SO....when I saw the challenge for Paper Smooches Sparks was this picture....I was tickled :-)  So is it grey or gray?  Humm, well I googled it, and turns out...

"Gray and grey are different spellings of the same word, and both are used throughout the English-speaking world. But gray is more common in American English, while grey is more common in all other main varieties of English. In the U.K., for instance, grey appears about twenty times for every instance of gray. In the U.S. the ratio is reversed."

well, how bout that?
Check out my groovy chickie stamp and the other fun stuff over at Paper Smooches!  Oh yeah, back to the inspiration pic....here it is:
I immediately thought of this hot little chickie.

hey gurrrrl, I love your false eyelashes....you are stunning!

Nostalgia

I spent a few hours at my mom and dads last week looking through old photos, and I completely fell in love. Some were very tiny, so I brought them to Archivers today, and a wonderful woman enlarged them for me. The result makes my heart melt. These are a few pictures I had done today side by side with the original. The frame is one I picked up at junk bonanza because it reminded me of the tin ceilings at my parent's building they owned and had their business in. My grandma Ella, and the others are my dad. What an incredibly well spent $4.00 to print. Priceless.

LeTs pLay!

Hello!  I do believe the curse wished upon my household has lifted!  Husband and I are over our hideous colds, and my baby Oscar no longer smells like sKuNk.  Thanks GoOdNess!  So today I decided to play over at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  Okay, I was a little loose in the translation of the sketch, but all I could think of when I saw it was a big pinwheel.

and a goofy dog with a wet nose and tounge.
clearly, he wants to play.  LOL!~
So, that's what I did this morning......I hope it made you smile!  Oscar and I can be found in the craftroom all day today!  Smooch!  http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/

Tim Holtz

One of the main reasons I wanted to get a Big Shot die cut machine is for this Tim Holtz die.  I LOVE this die....drooled over it and was one of my first purchases after I bought my machine.
The BIG SHOOOOOOOOT!
Oh I love my big shot machine.  It cuts fabric, paper,
and....what I used in this project....chipboard~
Oh So in LOVE with this DIE!

So, I very rarely repeat a design.  I have to really really love it to want to make more then one of a certain design in one sitting.  But with this die I did several.  I had fun with mixing it up by painting the chipboard, and using Tattered Angels glimmer mist.  oh yeah.  not gonna lie, it was so much fun~

So much fun!  Bird is the Word!
My little helper...."momma!  blogging and card making makes me sooooooo sleepy~"

Copic class

So excited! I just signed up for an online copic class! I have improved in the last few months, but I know I have a LOT more to learn! I can't wait to see the difference between my posts after the class! Copic markers are alcohol based ink in 358 colors and are designed to blend like colors. They are marked like Garanimals for crafters :-)! I don't start for a few weeks, so stay tuned!

Another Smooch....

Fall in MN.....hands down my favorite time of year.  I had to add one more Paper Smooches stamped image this week......it's for the Sparks Trend Watch Challenge which is anything woods and woodland creatures.  Since we've recently moved to a rural area of Maple Lake, I've become quite familiar with woodland creatures.......sometimes unexpectedly much to Oscar's delight.
Anyhoosie,
What do you think?  Oh, and as for the Bingo paper, I personally am not a big playa.....but for those of you who aren't from MN, the season of Fall and Bingo kinda go hand in hand.  Lotsa bingo going on as we migrate indoors to prepare for winter ;-)
This little hoot is from the Chubby Chums stampset.  When I showed the stamps to MyMarcus, he laughed and said, 'yup, those look like something you would like'.  Chubby Critters........sweet.
I also used the free digi from Paper Smooches blog for the sentiment, and made a little flag with some yellow and white bakers twine for a bowsie.  Some precision cutting, 3 d adhesives, and copper pearls, and here he is.  Oh, and of course I shined up her beek with Glossy Accents, one of my favorito things to use.  Whoooooooo should I send this to?

I <3 this product!

Oh So LoVeLy

I recently discovered Paper Smooches stamps and immediately fell in LOVE!  Quirky and Whimsy.  Clean lines and fun images.  So.......I decided to submit my latest creation using a free image I found on their blog to answer a call for a new design team for the SPARKS Challenge blog.  How cool would that be if I were chosen.........*sigh*!  Anyhoosie, I started with the little floral digi print from the blog, found HERE and chose this picture as my inspiration:

whites....blues....reflective light....silver

I chose to work with Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6x6 paper pack.  Colors were exactly what I had pictured in my head.
The ribbon accent is a plushy white velvet
I used stick pins to demonstrate reflective light like the mirror in the inspiration photo.  They are from Basic Grey.
I colored and cut 2 sets of the stamps so I could give it a 3-dimensional feel Display our button
